Hymn Sing 2017

Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 6 pm, over 200 voices from 14 different churches were heard singing “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” in the sanctuary at Shartel Church of God in Oklahoma City, OK. With the intention of singing a song of praise, over 20 hymns were sung along with special music from local churches in the area. It was encouraging hearing so many voices singing loudly and with confidence the heritage hymns and songs. The desire of my heart with this special service is that we can teach the future generations the songs we were raised singing. Many were blessed and the Lord was praised!

Heritage Hymn Sing

Our Heritage Hymn Sing blessed all who attended on Sunday evening, June 26. Pastor Don Peslis from Crossings Community Church did a wonderful job leading us into worship through singing hymns and praising God. Special music guests included our Shartel choir, Jean Shackleton, her daughter, Jeana Early and family, and Rev. Chuck Whetstone. Over 200 people were in attendance, eight churches represented, and we had a wonderful dessert fellowship to follow.  We plan on having more hymn sings in the future, and we hope you can join us in this moving worship experience!

The Commands of Christ

Pastor Eddie Wrinkle from Vinita’s First Church of God has written and is in the process of publishing a book entitles “The Commands of Christ.” His desire is that this book will serve as a tool to teach others how to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and His commands throughout the world.
Using Scripture, Pastor Eddie found 20 main commands that Christ gave his followers and began putting together a series of sermons that he has shared with his church and also with pastors in other countries. His vision is that every pastor in every nation and in every language will have a copy of these commands to use as a guide.
Pastor wrinkle states that he is just a little grassroots pastor doing what God put on his heart to do. He believes that God will use this book to help carry out the Great Commission. It’s all about God and God will do with it what
